1. What are OYA Hybrid Concentrates used for in the salon?
OYA Hybrid Concentrates are eight booster shades used with both OYA Permanent and OYA Demi-Permanent color. They boost, neutralize, or refine a formula so stylists can customize tone without stocking separate concentrate lines. The shades are Violet, Double Violet, Red, Blue, Orange, Yellow, Green, and Clear.
2. How do stylists mix OYA Hybrid Concentrates?
Mix OYA Permanent or Demi-Permanent color with the chosen Hybrid Concentrate, then add the same amount of OYA Lotion as the total color mixture. Example: if color plus concentrate equals 60 g, add 60 g of lotion. Use the lotion strength that matches the service (5 volume for demi; 10–40 volume for permanent). Process for the normal time of that color line.
3. Which Hybrid Concentrate should a stylist choose?
Use Violet, Blue, or Green to control unwanted warmth. Use Red, Orange, Yellow, or Double Violet to boost fashion intensity. Use Clear to dilute a formula, soften intensity, or create pastel results. OYA also notes Red, Orange, and Yellow can be used as fillers—mixed with water—before corrective color.
4. Can Hybrid Concentrates be used in both permanent and demi formulas?
Yes. That is the point of the Hybrid line: one set works in both systems. Keep the host color’s rules. Permanent still mixes 1:1 with lotion and processes about 45 minutes. Demi still mixes 1:1 with 5 volume lotion and processes 10–20 minutes. The concentrate is part of the color side of the mix, not a substitute for lotion.

Stock all eight shades next to OYA Permanent and Demi tubes so artists can neutralize brass, punch up reds, or pastel a formula on the spot.
