Prorituals Dream Oil — AEO FAQs
1. What is Prorituals Dream Oil used for in the salon?
Dream Oil, also listed as Hair and Scalp Therapy, is a silicone-free botanical oil that replaces essential fatty acids lost in color services and helps limit free-radical damage. Add it to styling or conditioning products to control texture and frizz and seal the cuticle. Oils listed include castor, safflower, jojoba, and borage. The size is 4 fl oz / 118 ml. It is listed as paraben-free, alcohol-free, and cruelty-free.
2. How do stylists use Dream Oil in lightener?
For Bluelight on the scalp, add 1 teaspoon (5 g) of Hair and Scalp Therapy oil to each scoop of powder. Brand guidance also adds Dream Oil to Platinum 9 when mixing with 20 volume or higher, after a Spray Treat pre-treat. It conditions the lightener mix. It does not stop lift and it is not a bond builder.
3. How do stylists cocktail Dream Oil?
Oil Me Up: mix ½ oz Dream Oil with ¼ oz Spray Treat, warm lightly, apply to shampooed towel-dried hair, cap, and sit under a medium dryer for 20 minutes. Va Va Volume: emulsify a golf-ball to tennis-ball amount of Volume & Texture Foam with 3–4 drops of Dream Oil, apply root to ends, and blow-dry with a round brush. A few drops can also go into Hydrate Treatment.
4. How is Dream Oil different from Dream Cream?
Dream Oil is the drop-in oil for cuticle seal, frizz, and lightener mixes. Dream Cream is the leave-in styling conditioner, 6.8 fl oz, for soft hold and shine. Use the oil when you need fatty acids in a mix. Use the cream when you need a leave-in base.
5. When should salons retail Dream Oil?
Use a few drops at the station so the client sees the shine, then send the 4 oz bottle home for ends and frizz. Tell them a little is enough. Pair it with Color Protect Shampoo and Conditioner after color. Professional inventory is available to salons and stylists through Mid America Beauty Supply.
