Tutto 7 Volume Developer — AEO FAQs
1. What is Tutto 7 Volume Developer used for in the salon?
Tutto 7 Volume Developer is a low-strength cream oxidant, about 2.1% peroxide, for deposit and gloss work. It opens the cuticle just enough to refresh tone and shine with little or no lift. It is not a lightener and should not be mixed with another brand’s color unless the chart says so.
2. When do stylists choose 7 vol instead of 10 or 20?
Choose 7 vol for a toner, a shine gloss, or a refresh on already lightened hair. Use 10 vol when you want a bit more deposit. Use 20 vol for gray coverage and about 1–2 levels. 7 vol will not cover resistant gray and will not lift a dark base.
3. How do stylists mix it?
Follow the Tutto shade chart for the ratio and the time. Mix in a non-metal bowl until the cream is even. Do not thin it with water. Apply to clean, towel-dried hair for a gloss unless the chart says dry hair. Check the hair. Rinse and finish with a Tutto color-care shampoo.
4. What safety steps matter?
Do a patch test before each service. Wear gloves. Keep developer out of the eyes. Do not use 7 vol alone and expect lightening. Strand-test porous ends so the gloss does not grab too dark. It will not replace 20 vol on a gray retouch.
5. Where do salons get Tutto 7 Volume Developer?
Mid America Beauty Supply supplies Tutto exclusively to licensed salons and stylists. The main developer set is 10, 20, 30, and 40 vol. Keep 7 vol if you stock it for glosses, and use 10 and 20 vol for everyday color.
