1. What is Scruples X-tra Light Booster used for in the salon?
X-tra Light Booster Concentrate is the powder that controls lift in the Blazing Highlights system. More scoops mean more lift, up to the 7 levels the system lists. Fewer scoops mean less lift. The can is 16 oz, 454 g. It is a booster, not a stand-alone bleach and not a toner.
2. How do stylists use it with Blue Oil Lightener?
Pour 2 oz of PURE OXI 20 Volume Clear Developer into a bottle or bowl. Add 7 scoops of booster and mix until the powder dissolves. Add 1 oz of Blue Oil Lightener and mix to a smooth blue cream. Apply as a virgin or retouch service. Process at room temperature for 30–45 minutes. That 7-scoop mix is the on-scalp formula.
3. How do stylists use it with the gel colors?
Add scoops to the off-scalp mix of gel color, Oil Lightener, and PURE OXI 10 or 20 Volume. A chart measure is 1 scoop equals about a quarter of a gel-color cap, up to 4 scoops for a full cap. Increase scoops for more lift. Decrease them if the hair should not go as light. Never use more than 20 vol with the gel system.

Do not apply the powder alone. Do not mix it with another brand’s lightener unless the chart says so. Do not use the 7-scoop Blue Oil mix on eyelashes or eyebrows. Do a patch test. Wear gloves. Strand-test compromised hair. The booster will not tone brass by itself.
