1. What is OYA Demi Permanent Color used for in the salon?

OYA Demi is ammonia-free, deposit-only color that works in harmony with OYA Permanent Color and uses the same numbering system. Stylists use it for gray blending, glossing, glazing, toning, shadow roots, color melts, lowlights, and refreshing mid-lengths on a retouch. It fades on tone and will not lift the natural level. About 43–44 intermixable shades, including a Clear shine shade.

2. How do stylists mix and process OYA Demi?

Mix 1:1 with OYA Lotion 5 volume (1.5%) only. Process 10–20 minutes. Apply to towel-dried or dry hair. Do not mix demi tubes with Liquid Rapid Activator. After processing, emulsify, rinse, and shampoo with OYA Sulfate Free Shampoo, then condition.

3. How is Demi different from Permanent Color and Liquid Rapid Toners?

Permanent Color mixes 1:1 with 10–40 volume lotion, processes 45 minutes, and can lift up to 4 levels plus cover 100% gray in dedicated series. Demi is deposit-only with 5 volume. Rapid Toners are liquid blonding toners mixed 1:1 with Activator for 5–20 minutes after lightener. Use demi to gloss and refresh; use permanent for lasting gray coverage and lift; use Rapid Toners to tone pre-lightened blonde.

4. How do stylists customize OYA Demi formulas?

Add Hybrid Concentrates to boost or neutralize. Add Clear to drop intensity: about 1 part Clear to 2 parts color for one level lighter, or 1:1 for two levels sheerer. On porous mid-lengths and ends, use one to two levels lighter than the target or add Clear so the tone does not grab dark or too cool. Gray-blending series are Natural, Ash, and Beige; fashion series include Gold, Mahogany, Copper, Red, Violet, and Violet Ash (.91).

5. What aftercare should salons recommend after OYA Demi?
